Reman Engine Control Units & Repairs

MEpage1.jpg

We have re-manufacturing services available for some Mercedes-Benz engine control units (ECU). We service some of the most common issues including auxiliary fan issues and supercharger failure.

Many part numbers are in stock and ready-to-ship, including some that we cannot perform repair services on. If you've got the right diagnostic equipment to program the module, there's no need to wait for us to rebuild your unit.

NOTE: Siemens manufactured ECUs with part numbers beginning with 111 and 271 cannot be serviced at this time

Do the units in stock come pre-programmed?
No. The programming and immobilizer data must be initialized once the unit is in the car. If we are able to repair your unit, coding will not be touched. But new units on the shelf will never be "plug-and-play." All of our re-manufactured units are unlocked and cleared of the coding data left behind from the previous vehicle. Once a unit is unlocked, it must be installed in the vehicle and then programmed using a factory tool or equivalent.

I don't have any diagnostic equipment, can you rebuild my ECU?
Maybe! If your ECU has an issue that we can rebuild, when we return it to you it will retain the original VIN and coding information. In this case, you will simply plug it back into your vehicle and go. Most water damaged or burned ECUs will not fall into this category though, so it ultimately depends on the issue(s) your ECU is having.

My ECU is dead or not communicating, can you do anything?
The short answer is no. Often times issues like these require that the entire electrical board be replaced in the ECU, which is not practical. In this situation, we recommend you have us unlock an ECU for you. We also advise you be wary of companies who claim to be able to repair no-comm units. This often results in the company sending you back an entirely different unit.

Will you test the unit for me?
We offer bench testing for some ECU issues. Due to the complicated nature of how these units function, testing for things like misfires on the bench may not be possible depending on what type of unit you have. Before you send your unit in to be tested, please contact us and we will let you know what we can do to help.

What kind of warranty do you offer?
Our re-manufactured parts come with a one-year warranty. See our policies page for full details.
